Description: “Scrusciu” is a cross between a documentary and an experimental play of image and sound reminiscent of the American Avant-Garde materialist films. It observes the relationship between the filmmaker and his mother during a medical crisis. The filmmaker visually dissects his mothers space (her home) and audibly connects the deconstructed noise of a clamorous refrigerator to the segmented visual rhythms of his mothers house. The video is in the Sicilian dialect with English subtitles.
